Blue Jays' Cavan Biggio Signs One-Year Contract
Biggio Set to Make $300,000 in First MLB Season
Toronto Blue Jays second baseman Cavan Biggio has signed a one-year contract worth $300,000. The contract includes a $300,000 guarantee and an average annual salary of $300,000.
Biggio is the son of former MLB All-Star Craig Biggio. He was drafted by the Blue Jays in the first round of the 2016 MLB draft. In 2018, Biggio played for the Dunedin Blue Jays of the Class A-Advanced Florida State League and the New Hampshire Fisher Cats of the Class AA Eastern League. He batted .276 with 26 home runs and 95 RBIs in 126 games.
Biggio is expected to make his MLB debut in 2019. He will be competing for a starting role at second base with Lourdes Gurriel Jr.
